About the Workday Financials integration

Workday Financial Management is Workday's cloud finance suite for large organisations, often alongside Workday HCM. The Unify ERP API covers its companies, ledger accounts, suppliers, customers and invoices.

Workday exposes SOAP web services and REST APIs secured by an integration system user or an API client using OAuth 2.0, with security groups controlling each domain. The Unify ERP API maps companies, ledger accounts, worktags, suppliers, supplier invoices, customers, customer invoices and journals to the Unify Graph.

Why build Workday Financials on Unify Int

  • One data model

Workday Financials records arrive in the same Unify Graph shape as every other platform in the category, with the original record kept in raw.

  • Unify Connect

A white-label flow for your customers to authorize Workday Financials. Tokens are stored and refreshed for you.

  • Custom fields and passthrough

Map Workday Financials custom fields per connection, and call any endpoint the model does not cover through passthrough requests.

  • Unify Monitor

Request logs, sync health and alerts for every Workday Financials connection, so support can see what happened.

Workday Financials integration questions

Does Unify Int support Workday Financials supplier invoices and invoices?
Workday Financials is on the Unify Int roadmap. The planned scope covers reading companies, accounts, suppliers, customers, supplier invoices, invoices, purchase orders and journal entries, with write-back for suppliers, customers and supplier invoices to follow. Request it to move it up, or ask the Technology Center about a custom build.
How do customers connect their Workday Financials account?
Your customer's Workday administrator registers an API client for Unify Int with the required domain security, then approves it through Unify Connect.
Is there a Workday Financials sandbox for testing?
Yes. Workday customers have sandbox tenants that refresh from production and can be connected for testing.
How often does Workday Financials data sync?
Workday Financials does not emit webhooks for most objects, so Unify Sync polls incrementally on the schedule you set per object, typically every 15 minutes to daily, and sends you signed webhooks when records change.
Can I access Workday Financials custom fields?
Workday worktags (cost centres, projects, regions) are mapped as dimensions; custom objects and fields are available through passthrough.
