About the Sage Accounting integration

Sage Accounting (formerly Sage Business Cloud Accounting) is Sage's cloud ledger for small businesses in the UK, Ireland, North America and Europe. Unify Int reads its contacts, invoices, bills and payments.

Sage Accounting exposes the Sage Business Cloud Accounting API (v3.1) with OAuth 2.0 and regional variants for tax handling. The Unify Accounting API maps contacts, sales and purchase invoices, payments, ledger accounts and tax rates, including UK VAT and Making Tax Digital fields.

Why build Sage Accounting on Unify Int

  • One data model

Sage Accounting records arrive in the same Unify Graph shape as every other platform in the category, with the original record kept in raw.

  • Unify Connect

A white-label flow for your customers to authorize Sage Accounting. Tokens are stored and refreshed for you.

  • Custom fields and passthrough

Map Sage Accounting custom fields per connection, and call any endpoint the model does not cover through passthrough requests.

  • Unify Monitor

Request logs, sync health and alerts for every Sage Accounting connection, so support can see what happened.

Sage Accounting integration questions

Does Unify Int support Sage Accounting invoices and bills?
Sage Accounting is on the Unify Int roadmap. The planned scope covers reading accounts, customers, vendors, invoices, bills, payments, journal entries, items, tax rates and attachments, with write-back for customers, vendors and invoices to follow. Request it to move it up, or ask the Technology Center about a custom build.
How do customers connect their Sage Accounting account?
Your customer signs in with Sage ID in Unify Connect and selects the business. Unify Int manages the OAuth 2.0 tokens.
Is there a Sage Accounting sandbox for testing?
Yes. Sage's developer programme provides trial businesses per region for testing.
How often does Sage Accounting data sync?
Sage Accounting does not emit webhooks for most objects, so Unify Sync polls incrementally on the schedule you set per object, typically every 15 minutes to daily, and sends you signed webhooks when records change.
Can I access Sage Accounting custom fields?
Sage Accounting has few custom fields; analysis types and anything outside the model are available in `raw` or through passthrough.
