About the Fishbowl integration

Fishbowl is inventory and manufacturing software for small and mid-sized US businesses, often paired with QuickBooks. The Unify Inventory API reads its parts, inventory, locations and purchase and sales orders.

Fishbowl Advanced runs on a server in the customer's network and exposes a REST API on that server, so cloud access needs an agent or tunnel. Unify Int connects through a secure on-premise agent and maps parts, products, inventory by location, purchase orders and sales orders to the Unify Graph.

Why build Fishbowl on Unify Int

  • One data model

Fishbowl records arrive in the same Unify Graph shape as every other platform in the category, with the original record kept in raw.

  • Unify Connect

A white-label flow for your customers to authorize Fishbowl. Tokens are stored and refreshed for you.

  • Custom fields and passthrough

Map Fishbowl custom fields per connection, and call any endpoint the model does not cover through passthrough requests.

  • Unify Monitor

Request logs, sync health and alerts for every Fishbowl connection, so support can see what happened.

Fishbowl integration questions

Does Unify Int support Fishbowl inventory levels and parts?
Fishbowl is on the Unify Int roadmap. The planned scope covers reading parts, inventory levels, locations, stock adjustments, transfers, purchase orders, orders and shipments, with write-back for parts, inventory levels and stock adjustments to follow. Request it to move it up, or ask the Technology Center about a custom build.
How do customers connect their Fishbowl account?
A secure agent is installed on the customer's network next to the Fishbowl server and signs in with a Fishbowl integration user.
Is there a Fishbowl sandbox for testing?
Fishbowl has no hosted sandbox; testing uses a test company database on the customer's server.
How often does Fishbowl data sync?
Fishbowl does not emit webhooks for most objects, so Unify Sync polls incrementally on the schedule you set per object, typically every 15 minutes to daily, and sends you signed webhooks when records change.
Can I access Fishbowl custom fields?
Fishbowl custom fields on parts and orders can be read through the agent and mapped per connection.
