About the commercetools integration

commercetools is a headless, API-first commerce platform used by enterprise retailers and brands to build custom storefronts. The Unify Orders API covers its orders, products, customers, carts and inventory.

commercetools uses OAuth 2.0 client credentials with fine-grained scopes per project, and Subscriptions to push change messages to queues. Unify Int maps orders, products and variants, categories, customers, payments and inventory entries to the Unify Graph.

Why build commercetools on Unify Int

  • One data model

commercetools records arrive in the same Unify Graph shape as every other platform in the category, with the original record kept in raw.

  • Unify Connect

A white-label flow for your customers to authorize commercetools. Tokens are stored and refreshed for you.

  • Custom fields and passthrough

Map commercetools custom fields per connection, and call any endpoint the model does not cover through passthrough requests.

  • Unify Monitor

Request logs, sync health and alerts for every commercetools connection, so support can see what happened.

commercetools integration questions

Does Unify Int support commercetools orders and products?
commercetools is on the Unify Int roadmap. The planned scope covers reading orders, products, variants, customers, fulfillments, refunds, inventory levels and payouts, with write-back for products, variants and fulfillments to follow. Request it to move it up, or ask the Technology Center about a custom build.
How do customers connect their commercetools account?
Your customer creates an API client with read scopes in their commercetools project and enters it in Unify Connect.
Is there a commercetools sandbox for testing?
Yes. commercetools trial and non-production projects can be connected for testing.
How often does commercetools data sync?
Unify Sync combines commercetools change notifications where the platform emits them with incremental polling elsewhere. You set the frequency per object, from a few minutes for transactional records to daily for reference data.
Can I access commercetools custom fields?
Yes. Custom types and product type attributes in commercetools can be mapped per connection.
