How it works
When a business invoices on credit terms, the invoice amount becomes a receivable, an asset on the balance sheet. Customer payments reduce it, and credit notes or write-offs adjust it. The AR aging report groups open invoices by how long they have been outstanding, which drives collections work and cash forecasting, and lenders often use it to size credit lines.
Example
A wholesaler has $310,000 in receivables, with $42,000 more than 60 days past due. A lender offering invoice financing reads the aging report to decide how much to advance.
In integrations
AR data feeds invoicing, collections and lending products. The Unify Accounting API is designed to read customers, invoices, payments and credit notes across ledgers, and AR aging where the platform provides it, so a lender or collections tool can work from one schema. Receivables drive cash timing, so many finance products, from collections to cash forecasting to invoice financing, start by reading AR. Keep invoices, payments and credits linked or balances drift.
